The ultimate aim of

While most employers know that both passive and active forms of fall protection equipment are equally efficient, they tend to use different terms for the equipment in question. For example, where workers are working on raised platforms there must be reliable hydraulic support. If the platform is not raised to an adequate height then there is a real risk that the workers will not be safe from the consequences of the fall if the platform should fall.
The best solution for those who perform work where platforms are being raised or lowered is a fully automatic fall arrest system. One of the main reasons that these systems are so successful is that they provide all-around body protection. These mechanisms are designed to securely secure the platform on which people are working and at the same time provide stable support to the weight of the workers. These systems are available from several manufacturers and are found to be highly reliable in many circumstances.
There are other types of fall protection systems too which can be used to protect workers from falling. A fall arrest barrier is one such system that can be attached to the top of a scaffold. When the worker is working at a high place and the platform on which he is standing falls then the fall arrest system will catch the fall of the scaffold thereby saving his life. These barriers are made up of a rigid steel frame that is attached to a series of springs.
